In the early years of his specialist career, Dr Dona focused on researching and developing innovative techniques to treat a wide range of hand-related plastic surgery conditions. He pioneered several approaches that were published in leading surgical journals and presented at national and international conferences. Many of these early contributions have since become widely adopted by hand surgeons around the world.
Hand surgery forms an important part of every specialist plastic surgeon’s training, and Dr Dona provided expert care in this field while working within the public hospital system. Since stepping away from public hospital practice in 2022, he no longer routinely performs hand surgery.
Dr Dona’s private practice is largely dedicated to Breast and Body Contouring Surgery. Guided by his philosophy of the “perpetual pursuit of perfection,” he is committed to continual learning, refinement, and improvement in all that he does. This approach drives his ongoing development of surgical techniques, enabling him to pioneer new and improved methods of achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.
This dedication ensures that his patients are always in trusted hands.
The best possible surgery will only reap high-quality results if it is followed by specialist hand therapy (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy). In fact, patients will usually spend far more time with the Hand Therapists than they do with the specialist doctors. Therefore, due to the wide geographical distribution of our patients, we use a network of specialist hand therapists to suit all of our clients’ needs.
